Apple: iPhone Firmware 3.0 and 3GS

Apple has launched some new hardware at the WWDC keynote! It will soon on the new MacBook and MacBook Pro (which earn a SD port and the return of the FireWire champion innovation!) to delve more deeply into the iPhone 3GS.

3GS for “3G Speed”, because the device is promised to be faster than the previous model, which remains in the catalog. It wins a digital compass (better location), a feature Voice Control (command “the voice”), better battery (one or two hours), and especially a royal photo sensor to 3 megapixels instead of 2.

No flash, autofocus, but a “touch”, an auto white balance, and the ability to capture video in VGA 30 fps. Nothing really outstanding, therefore, there can always be content with the 3G model, which saw its price drop to $ 99 (8 GB). The 3GS it will be available from June 19 for $199 (16GB) and $299 (32 GB).

Rest all the software part, which will offer a lot of news for all iPhone and iPod touch: copy / paste, shops “in app” Bluetooth connection between two devices, integrated search engine, support MMS, landscape mode for all the purchase of TV series and films, a dictaphone, modem mode … In short, the firmware 3.0 has finally made the necessary maturity to the iPhone. Available June 17 (free for iPhone, $ 9.95 for iPod touch).
