Samsung India has launched a mobile phone powered by solar energy which has received the name Samsung Guru E1107, and thanks to this type of battery, it avoids the problems caused by instability or lack of sources of electrical power users in rural areas.

With a compact design, the Samsung Guru offers an FM radio, MP3 ringtones, games and a built-in flashlight. In addition it comes with security features such as mobile tracking device that automatically alerts when a SIM card is changed, and sending an SOS message in an emergency.

After an hour of sun exposure, the gadget provides 5 to 10 minutes of talk time.

The e1107 is now available in India and is also expected to be launched in other markets, including Europe, South-Eastern Asia and Latin America.
