Published in 2007 (read this news), the Neo FreeRunner of OpenMoko was a sensation from the small mobile world, and for good reason: it was the first Linux phone! Unfortunately, the company behind the device has not indicated that they sold 10 000 and thus was making drastic cuts in its teams: half of the staff took the door … and the camera will be more distributed.

However, all is not lost for this beautiful idea, puisqu’OpenMoko also explained that while dropping the mobile industry, a “plan B” was being prepared to bounce back. Let’s hope so!
